Our pricing model at Chov Pros is designed to be transparent, fair, and customized to the unique scope of your specific project.
We understand that you need clear costs before committing to any remodeling work. Here is a breakdown of how we determine project costs and how we bill for our services:
Our Transparent Pricing Approach
We primarily use two models depending on the service being provided:
1. Fixed-Price/Per-Project Bidding (For most remodeling)
For the majority of our services—such as drywall installation, painting, shiplap, home theater installation, and deck refinishing—we operate on a fixed-price contract model.
How it works: After our initial free in-home consultation, we create a detailed, itemized proposal. This proposal includes a single, all-inclusive price that covers:
Materials: All necessary materials (e.g., drywall sheets, paint, wiring, trim).
Labor: The full cost of our expert team and project management.
Logistics: Waste disposal and site cleanup.
Why we do this: This model gives you complete peace of mind. You know the exact total cost before we lift a hammer, eliminating surprises or ballooning hourly rates.
2. Time & Materials / Hourly Rate (For small repairs/diagnostics)
For very small jobs, minor repairs, or diagnostic work where the total scope cannot be fully determined upfront (like troubleshooting an electrical issue before we know the cause), we charge a competitive hourly rate plus the cost of materials used.
How it works: We will provide an estimate of the time required and always get your approval before exceeding that estimate.
Why we do this: It ensures fairness for quick fixes that don't warrant a full, complex proposal process.
How Payments Are Handled
Free Estimates: The process starts with a complimentary, no-obligation estimate.
Deposit: A deposit is typically required to secure your project date and order specialized materials.
Milestone Payments: For larger projects, we break the total cost into progress payments that are due as major milestones are completed (e.g., framing finished, drywall installed, painting complete).
Final Payment: The final balance is only due when the entire project is finished and you are 100% satisfied with our work during the final walk-through.
Our goal is to provide exceptional value through quality craftsmanship and a transparent, easy-to-understand billing process.
Would you like to schedule that free consultation so we can provide a specific estimate for your project?

In most cases, no. We work hard to minimize disruptions and will set up dust-containment barriers to keep your living space as clean as possible.

At Chov Pros, we view unexpected issues not as disasters, but as part of the specialized puzzle of remodeling. Our approach is built on the philosophy that "unexpected issues are part of construction, but unexpected communication shouldn't be".
Here is exactly how we handle surprises behind your walls:
Immediate Assessment & Pause: As soon as a technician discovers a "hidden" issue—such as outdated knob-and-tube wiring or water-damaged framing—we immediately pause work in that area to prevent further complications.
Visual Transparency: We don't just tell you about the problem; we show you. We invite you to the job site or send photos and videos so you can see exactly what we've found.
The "Three-Option" Solution: For most issues, we present several paths forward—often including a "must-fix" for code compliance, a "best-practice" for longevity, and a budget-conscious alternative.
Formal Change Orders: To protect your budget, we never perform extra work without a written and signed Change Order. This document explicitly details the new scope, the exact cost, and any impact on the project timeline.
Expert Coordination: If the issue is outside our immediate scope (like major structural mold or asbestos), we tap into our network of vetted specialists to ensure the repair is handled safely and professionally.
Code-Compliance Focus: We work closely with local building departments to ensure any unexpected repairs bring your home up to modern safety standards.
Pro Tip: We always recommend homeowners set aside a 10%–20% contingency cushion in their initial budget specifically to handle these types of "behind-the-wall" discoveries without stress.
